Laugh out Loud, you are here!!!!!!
Bring your own mat is about experiencing Yoga from a place where we make no assumptions and have no expectations.
I decided to teach Yoga because June 23rd, 2010 a drunk driver decided to drive into my bedroom at 4 in the morning.
When you spend a year struggling with walking, unable to work a full time schedule, care for a 10 year old by yourself, constantly having back spasm, suffer from PTSD and finding no comfort in sitting, standing, and laying down to rest. The idea that I couldn't do Yoga anymore and care for my son was something I just couldn't accept.
I have never been from a place of limited mobility and to have the experience of being limited and allowing myself to surrender to yoga in this way, created this profound healing, that its almost hard to explain. I even tell people, "You want to know Yoga really well? Do it through trauma, do it through discomfort, do it through mental anguish!"
Why would I suggest that? Because we are fighting to become alive. To Live. To Exist.
Do you need to be from this place to know yoga? NOOOOOOOOO!!!! You will find it just as amazing when you figure out, this longing for Yoga is a longing to You! I just hope it doesn't take something life altering to get you there. Yoga is life altering enough.
